Steve has served at Calvary Chapel Bear Creek since 1997.

Steve was born in 1949 in Tacoma WA. He and his family moved to Santa Fe Springs Ca in 1951. He was raised in a Catholic family which Steve rebelled from at an early age. He came rip roaring through the sixties taking drugs and ended selling drugs for a living after high school.

Steve got drafted into the army in 1969 and served two years during the Viet Nam era. It was shortly after Steve got out of the army that he over dosed on drugs and finally gave his life over to Jesus Christ.

After receiving Christ in 1971, Steve went from being a high school drop out to receiving his BA degree as well as his masters in Divinity from Talbot Seminary. He also received another master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Business while he was working in the Pharmaceutical industry.

He was called by God to start Calvary Chapel Bear Creek in 1997 right here in Wildomar, and has been the senior pastor here since that time. Steve’s vision is to raise up servant leaders by winning, building, and sending them here, and abroad. Steve has been married to Sherrell for 32 years and is so grateful for an awesome partner in ministry.

One final thing that is a big part of Steve’s life is missions. He has been involved in ministering to the suffering church in Sudan Africa for 10 years. He has been highly involved with Far Reaching Ministries in training Chaplains in the Army of South Sudan. His vision is to take the gospel to all of Africa before the Lord should take home.
